… with the 28-135 IS lens. I’m not sure that’s going to be the best lens for me, but it’s a good starter compared to the Sigma lens I was using on my Digital Rebel. I’ve seen photos shot with that lens, but my biggest concern is the speed. I wonder if I’ll be switching the IS on and off a lot. We’ll see what happens.

What I Like About Zunes
I recently acquired a Zune to replace my iPod. While it’s clearly a 1.0 product, there are some very cool features that I’ve come to enjoy.
- The awesome display. I recently was sitting on an airplane next to someone with an iPod video, both of us watching videos on our iPod. Only one of us was squinting and it wasn’t me.
- The FM radio. Seems like an odd feature, but the gym where I exercise broadcasts the TV audio on different FM frequency. The FM radio means that I can jump from listening to music to watching TV with one device.
- The user interface. It took me a minute to readjust from the scroll wheel to the click, but once I did, it ended up being more natural. I also really like the “back” button, which will cycle you back to where you started if you keep hitting back. That was always one of the things that annoyed me with my iPod.
Is it perfect? No. Is it better than my last iPod — absolutely.
Shifting to WordPress
Yes, it’s finally time for k2.com to move into the 21st century. After many good years with Greymatter, I’ve finally decided that I need to move to a more modern blog. I’m encouraged by WordPress and look forward to using it more. I experimented with it a bit on one of my other sites. I was very impressed with the Greymatter import — basically flawless. Hopefully this will encourage me to write more.
Disney, Apple and ABC to sell TV show episodes online
This is huge (story at quote.com). It establishes the going rate for a single episode of a TV series at $1.99. That’s probably pretty close to what a DVD set costs with a collection of episodes. $0.99 would be a no brainer, $1.99 is probably easy if you miss one and want to catch up.
Oh, yeah, and Apple released a new iPod to go along with this that plays video.
