Disappointing Moleskine

What a disappointment!  I’m a devout moleskine carrier (pocket squared notebook – 192 pages) and decided to try the soft cover version.  I typically carry the notebook in my back pocket, so I sit on it all the time.  For the hardcover version, I add extra tape to the cover to prevent it from falling […]

Las Vegas Motorcycle Trip

Now there’s a couple of happy motorcycle dudes.  Here’s a photo from a 3 day Las Vegas ride I did with my dad.  We rode a total of 800 miles, covering 3 states, including a long stretch on the Mother Road, Route 66.

Pull-Ups – Get Some And Then Get Some More

Get some, and then get some more.  Just put in the Studbar Pullup Bar and have been working on my pullups.  Yup, I continue to be a fitness geek.  This bar is awesome.  The rafters in my garage are 2x4s so I may sister them up just to make me feel a little better about not […]

Fascinating website on journaling. I’m a pen and paper guy — I carry a Moleskine notebook in my back pocket all the time — I should write down what’s going on in my life in addition to all of the work notes that I take.  I like some of the ideas that this website proposes […]

Something In Exchange For A Heroes HD DVD

6 Years A-Blogging

I just realized that I’ve been blogging now for 6 years.  The first post to my web site (then was in February 2002. Hard to imagine that I’ve been doing this for that long.  I know that I wasn’t one of the first bloggers out there — Wikipedia suggests that the term itself was […]

Seattle Weather and Riding

I think that it’s about time to start riding the motorcycle regularly now.  The weather has gotten a bit warmer and I noted that it’s getting dark a bit later.  I’m definitely feeling good about that. Because my hands get cold when I ride, I had heated grips installed when I got my new ride.  […]

The Hamster Wheel

I’m still going strong on the treadmill.  It’s been a week since I installed the treadmill and I’m pretty happy with the results.  On most days I seem to walk around 4 miles at a pace of 1 mph.  I haven’t really noticed any difference in my weight (not that I’m trying to lose any) […]

Walking While Working

I have joined the ranks of the “work walkers” — I now have a treadmill in my office.  The walking while working movement was started by Dr. James Levine of the Mayo clinic.  His basic premise is that NEAT (Non-exercise activity thermogenesis) is more important that regular excercise.  One way to trigger NEAT is to walk while […]

New Bike

Yup — I did it.  Traded in the ’04 Road King for an ’08 Road Glide.  Awesome machine — 96 cubic inches with Rinehart slip-ons.  The audio system is kind of fun too.  No wonder I’m smiling.
