I’ve been goofing around with Twitter, Facebook and FriendFeed and microblogging and there’s clearly a few things I just don’t get. I started with Twitter, before Facebook, and thought it would be really cool to share status and microblog from my phone. But when Facebook arrived, where all my friends are (it turns out), I wonder what Twitter has to offer. Facebook status is essentially that microblog. I can get an RSS feed of that status (posted on this blog on the left). That status can be imported (via RSS) into FriendFeed, where others can see it along with my blog posts and other stuff. Since I can update my Facebook status via my cell phone, I’m just not getting the Twitter thing anymore. What am I missing?
One thing is that I don’t get status updates from others on my cell phone. It would be nice if there was a cell phone feed from FriendFeed. But is that it? Seems like a simple thing to add to FriendFeed.
